How to book a photoshoot on Renaissance Private Island “Flamingo Beach”, Aruba

What is Renaissance Private Island?

Renaissance Private Island, a.k.a Flamingo Beach, is an exclusive retreat located on the coast of Aruba that promises a gorgeous and luxurious day trip! Situated just off the coast of Renaissance Aruba Resort & Casino, this private island boasts pristine beaches, crystal-clear turquoise waters, and lush tropical surroundings. Guests can indulge in a range of activities, including lounging in private cabanas, snorkeling among colorful coral reefs, or sipping cocktails at the renowned Flamingo Beach. The Private Island consists of two beaches side by side: one open to anyone, with a restaurant and bar, and one for adults with just a bar. The Island also features a nature walk, beach tennis courts, and a gym.

That all sounds amazing…but how do I get a photoshoot with the flamingos?

First of all, and most importantly, you must be a guest of the Renaissance Hotel for your photographer to get a photographer's pass to the island. This will allow me to access the island without any extra cost to you!

⚠️Things to know about the island rules before booking⚠️

  • Photoshoots are only permitted between 7 am and 9 am. The sweet spot, and my preferred time for photo and/or video sessions, is always 7:30 am-8:30 am if you’re booking 1 hour. If you’re booking 2 hours with me, we’ll be there for as long as I’m allowed to be.

  • The first boat out to the island starts at 7 am, and then runs every 15 mins back and forth until 6 pm.

  • Sunset photoshoots are not permitted as the island closes before sunset all year-round.

  • Sunsets on the island are reserved exclusively for weddings that take place there. Just so you’re aware, if you’re looking to book your wedding on the island, you’ll also have to have your reception there. That’s pretty much the only way they’ll allow celebrations on the island at night.

  • Of course, if you’re looking for a photographer for your Renaissance Island wedding, feel free to browse through my wedding portfolio and inquire with me! (Sorry, I couldn’t miss the opportunity for some shameless self-promo)

🦩Things to know about the beautiful flamingos on the island🦩

  • There are always around 10-15 flamingos roaming the island. They can be anywhere, so you have to look out for them!

  • The flamingos tend to be the hungriest in the morning! This is because during the day, they get so much food that it isn’t an incentive for a photo anymore!

  • The island has 2 flamingo food stations. Take a plastic cup and some quarters, and you can feed them as much as you want.

  • Remember, they are wild animals. Sometimes they get annoyed if you come too close. They should not be picked up, touched, or taunted by any means!

  • We’re coming into their home!
